Tracking arrays
Tracking arrays are supplied with PS600 and PS1200 pumps and is an optional extra with the Badu Top12. Our tracking arrays are constructed using heavy duty RHS and Hot-Gal-dipped to provide years of hassle free operation even in the most demanding of conditions.
The tracking hardware and electronics are extremely simple and reliable. We use only heavy duty Linear Drive Actuators to provide positive array movement. Our tracking arrays automatically calibrate array movement with day length, so power output of the solar panels is maximised. Tracking arrays can provide up to an additional 40% daily flow compared to fixed arrays of the same watt rating. All electronics are enclosed in a water-proof and vermin-proof housing.
We recommend that all array posts are concreted to a depth of 1200mm using 40Mpa concrete. The diameter of the hole should be at least 400mm. In black soil country it is recommend a depth of 1400mm and a diameter of 600mm are used to create a stable footing regardless of the seasonal conditions.
