Why Hills Evacuated Tube Solar Hot Water Systems are the best!

  • Evacuated tubes will save you up to 90% on your annual water heating costs
  • Evacuated tubes are tested to -15 degrees C. you won't have any problems with freezing in winter. No anti-freeze chemicals like Glycol are used or needed.
  • They are also tesed hail resistant up to 25mm.
  • "...The ESTEEM TM Solar Collector is on Average 104% more efficient per m2 of aperture than the Flat Plate Solar Collector..."click here for full information on system efficiency.
  • If you break one or two tubes, unlike a flat plate system, ours will continue to operate and you can easily and economically replace any broken tubes.
  • If you don't have the ideal Northerly aspect on your roof, because of its cylindrical design the collector can be mounted in other positions and still function.
  • You won't have to re-inforce your roof as the tank sits on the ground
  • Because the system is modulart is simple to install without the need for cranes or heavy lifting.
  • Hills use marine grade, stainless steel tanks - they provide a natural oxide barrier to rust and eliminate the need for a sacrificial anode which saves the cost of replacement every 5 years.
  • You can use gas, electricity or waste heat from a wood stove to provide back up heating.
  • Eligible for generous government rebates up to $3800.
  • Some flat plate systems may offer more REC's however this has been calculated on 'area' covered by extremely large flat panels. As our systems are more efficient they cover less area.
  • Hills provide a 10 year warranty on all major components as well as the backing of a known and trusted Australian company.

Hills Esteem Evacuated Tube Solar Hot Water Systems

Climate change due to greenhouse emissions presents an immediate and growing threat to our fragile planet. The sun provides a limitless source of free non-polluting energy every day. A Hills Solar Evacuated Tube Hot Water System can efficiently capture this free energy and provide you with up to 80% savings on your hot water heating costs. Considering Australia is one of the sunniest countries on the planet it makes sense to utilise this resource by installing a Hills EsteemT Solar Evacuated Tube Hot Water System. Not only will you save money but you will also reduce your family's CO2 emissions by up to 3 tonnes per year.

Electric Boosting

Hills Solar offer electric boosted solar systems to sustain the water at an appropriate temperature when radiant heat is low and there is cloud cover and rain. The system comes with a standard 3.6kw bottom element however, can be changed to a 4.8kw element to conform with different State regulations. Positioning of the element ensures you will have a full tank of hot water available

Evacuated Solar Tubes

Evacuated tube technology delivers significantly better performance than traditional absorbers on the market today. Their advanced design incorporates tubes that consist of 2 layers of borosilicate glass with a vacuum layer between them. The vacuum acts like a thermos flask, retaining up to 97% of the thermal energy, resulting in an increased efficiency.

The Sun’s solar energy is then transferred to the manifold via the heat pipe located in each tube. The small amount of evaporative liquid in each tube is super heated by the Sun’s solar energy and forms into a vapour. The vapour rises to the top of each pipe. evacuated tube tech drawingHeat transfer then occurs between the pipe and water passing through the manifold. The water is then transferred to the tank.

The cylindrical design of the tubes ensures effective collection of the Sun’s solar energy throughout the entire day.
